What is Art Fight?

Art Fight is an Internet-wide, month-long art competition that occurs every July. Two teams battle by creating art of other participants’ original characters and earning points for each piece. The team with the most points wins. You can learn more at Art Fight.

Our fan events are inspired by and largely based on Art Fight. It follows the basic principle but instead of original characters, people provide prompts related to the event theme. It is a low-stress event where we want participants to focus on creating and sharing art while enjoying being in a community of artists and fandom alike.

Is this an official Art Fight? Is this an official collaboration?

We are not affiliated with the original Art Fight event in any capacity. We are not an official collaboration with any company or popular media. We are an independent group who happen to use popular media as themes for our fan events of Art Fight. We do not sell any products, accept donations, or make profit from our events. Any accounts participating in such activities are fake accounts.

Our only accounts are the following: Tumblr, Twitter, Instagram, Google (am.artfight@gmail.com), Discord (AM Art Fight#6909), Discord server and this website.

When is the event? What does the timeline look like?

Our events are highly dependent on the time and popular media. We never host during July to avoid overlapping with the original Art Fight. However, our Discord server is open all-year. You can join our Discord even if there isn't an event happening.

Currently, we have no event planned for 2023.

How do I sign-up?

You can sign-up for the event here (Google Form). You will receive a confirmation or rejection email if you have submitted your sign-up form successfully. Be sure to check your spam folder. We can also cross-check if you have submitted the form if you send us an inquiry at am.artfight@gmail.com with your name and email address.

To ensure the safety of all participants, we require everyone joining to:

  • Be 16 years or older
  • Observe the blacklist and all general, server and event rules at all times
  • Remove all linked NSFW accounts from easily accessible places, including Discord About Me sections

How does the event work? How do I get scored?

Upon signing up, you are asked to provide three prompts and a preferred team. As a participant, you choose other participants’ prompts and create art based on that prompt. Art can be anything you create–illustrations, writing, sculptures, etc.–so long as you create it during the event, for the event. You receive points for each piece you create. The more effort you put into your piece, the more points you get. You have four weeks to earn points for your team. The team with the most points wins.

There are event rules you must follow, a blacklist you must observe, and guidelines to help you figure out what is allowed and what isn’t for our events. Your piece is also scored according to our scoring guidelines.

I have some special accommodations. How can I request them?

Upon signing up, you have the option to write down your accommodation requests. We will accommodate you as best as we can. For requests that require more detail or specificity, you may send us an inquiry at am.artfight@gmail.com with your name and email address.
